The Better Exectuion of..... I Am A Photographer

This is another way to show that i am a photographer. Mrs. Ellman suggested that I combine the photos in photoshop instead of just laying it on a background, like my last post. The picture is a combination of some of the pictures that i have taken. Most of them are self-portraits, but one is the one that i took of a ferris wheel at The State Fair. That picture is also the one I use as the picture that is under my header. This is aslo an expression of how I am a photographer because it shows some of my work, and it has the same basic principles as my last post the only difference is the execution. I personally feel this one executes better than the last post.

I Am A Photographer

I Am A Photographer........(maybe) :) ..... What's my story?..... Well, I don't know... I really love my photojournalism class and I absolutely love taking pictures, as you can see by my photo. The theme of the assignment was to tell that you are a photographer. So, I interpreted that by showing a couple of the photographs that I take and then adding myself add trying to depict the pictures as coming form me, or my mind..... but I don't think that you can really tell.

Me.... Only Better

We had a retouching project where we had to take a picture of ourselves or someone else then retouch it, and this is the outcome. The first picture is the Original photo. The second is the Editing Map, and the third is the Final outcome. I learned many thing while doing this project, many of them involve photoshop. I learned how to use many of the tools in photoshop like clone stamp, lasso, burn, brush, etc. you can make changes in photoshop that look very real, but it is so much easier to take the photo correctly in the first place. It was easy to change the background, but it was time consuming, which was the only hard thing about it. My experience with this assignment was, overall, good. I enjoyed working on it and I had fun messing with myself in photoshop.

Brake Down of a Pool Table

I choose the subject that I did because I wanted to give my picture a different look than everyone else's photos. I was interested in this particular subject because it is my mother and she is "attempting" to play pool in our game room, that is why I choose it. She was a real good sport and she did a good job posing for this assignment. I am very happy with the results, because I think it looks cool, sort of.

Word Photo

My Word: Competitive
My Quote: Competitive people are very driven people. The best competition is with one's self. When you are competitive with yourself you learn many things the you never knew. Competing with yourself helps build your character.
In my opinion the photo-word combination overall gives the picture a finished look and a sense of wholeness.  It gives the picture more depth and adds personal emotion to the picture. I like the way that I wrote the word competitive, but I don't like the way I wrote the quote..... my handwriting is way to sloppy for this assignment. The quote looks so uneven to me. The picture makes me feel at ease, even though its soft and not sharp enough, says the ATPI judges. Although, I kind of like that about the picture. I think the softness adds to the emotion of the picture and makes you feel it as well. I do, however, like the fact that I'm looking down... because probably no one else is in their photos and it adds to the emotion. It looks like I'm either trying really hard to concentrate or am really SAD!..... Don't ask me which.
But...... I'll be honest I don't consider myself competitive.... at least not with other people.... only with myself. When I compete with others I don't really care wheather I win or lose. But with myself, I always want to out do myself and do better then I did before. ! :)

The After

This is a picture of the finished effect. I used my headboard as the texture in the back and i played with the hue saturation in order to get it to the blue color that it is now. I really like this picture because i worked really hard to make it and because i like how one of the layers is more bold than the other, and their for stands out more. This picture really seems to be all about the Jags eyes. I don't really now if you can tell but their are three jaguars in the picture two of them are faced-to-face and the other is toward the front. I like the finished look way better than i did with it before as just the two pictures together.

The Before

This is the picture of the two Jag pics combined...... i don't know if i really like this picture. I like it better when its combined with the background picture. Right now it looks unpleasant to me, like its missing something, the texture.

Gerrrrrr........ JAG TIME!

The Jag Statue stands before the gates of Summit High School and now will be monumental in this, and Mrs. Ellman's other student's blogs. I focused more on his gazing eyes then i did last time, which is why i think they are better than last time. Those eyes are hypnotic and can stare into the soul of anyone passing by. The mouth that sits waiting to devour those poor Summit students........    (Man it sounds like I'm in love with this thing..... :) oh...well, I'm weird)

This is more pictures of the Jaguar Statue that i took for Mrs. Ellman's class. I choose to put them on top of each other so you could compare them. One is the original, only with crop, tone, caption, and save done to it. The second, below the original, is the ones that i altered other things in photoshop. I used things like charcoal, and stain glass, and glass to get them to look like that. I think that they are better than my first ones because i did a sort of before and after photoshop. I also like these better because they are taken closer and concentrate more on single parts instead of a unified whole.

The Hidden Wonder of the World

Their are many things hidden among us in the world.....

But none are more RARE than the famous Nagelasorus. The hidden creature is a rare site among the locals. When taking the picture many of the watchers in the crowd, the locals, were stunned and confused about what was happening. Heads turned as i snapped the picture of the famous creature.

This is a photograph of the Summit High School Jaguar statue in the front of the school.
I took this photo the way that i did because i wanted to show some of my sister but still have her semi-hidden by the leaves in the first picture. I think that my picture is good because i tried not to have her just pose by standing in front of the statue, and i didn't show the whole statue. I also love her huge smile. ;) The second picture was manipulated in photoshop.

I  looked at some of the other Jaguar photos taken by my classmates and this is my favorite one its by Chen Ching.

The Cold Winter

My sisters and I went outside after school and had snow ball fights. This is what i wore to protect myself from the cold.

This is my oldest sister Angela and the dog is Echo. Angela demonstrates the strength and determination of Echo. He holds onto the toy even in the air.
This is when he came up to the camera and smelled it. EW! It left my camera wet.

I think my second photos are better because of the time of day that i shot them, and because it shows how i protected myself from the cold. I learned that its cold, from shooting in the cold. I also learned that snow is hard to work with, especially if it is snowing. I pretty much learned all the redundent things.

The Terror that is Echo.

This is a positive id of the  terror that attacked my sister

The culprit a little dog! this is my dog, his name is Echo. He is very mischievous. My sister was making a snow angel, and was attacked. These are pictures from the event.

He is jumping on her and biting and eating the snow. You can see in this picture how his whole face is in the snow.

This is probably the one that i like the most because it looks like a mugshot. Where he is caught on camera.

The Feeling of being cold

These are some of the pictures that make me feel cold. The first one is after school some of the Key Club members at Summit recycled this is one of them. She pulled her hoody over her head becasue of the cold. After the people recycled they went back to the Lecture Hall and had some hot chocolate to help reheat themselves and help fight the cold.
The rest of the photos were taken today and I added them because just looking at them makes me fell cold. They were all taken before I had to got to Ben Barber and they were taken outside of my house. The third photo shows my sister, who drives me to school. She looks excited to see the snow. The last picture is of the car from the inside and of how coated the windshield was with snow. It was awesome. I love the snow!

Fun with my sister at UTA

At the ATPI contest, my older sister joined me and we had a whole bunch of laughs. We also took pictures together. We found this hidden place and went out onto a ledge and took pictures..... here are some of them. The one of the person taking the picture, thats my sister.

Bathroom Pictures

On Friday I went to the ATPI contest at UTA it was awesome..... For those of you who didn't go, you missed out. I also discovered some secrets hidden in the restroom I showed to Mrs. Ellman and my sister. It was a secret. A Postsecret.

And some post secrets. Some of the secrets were very graphic and inappropriate, so I am not going to show the pictures of the individual secrets.

If your are ever at UTA at the performing arts center look this up, and add to the wall of secrets. So if your ever in the woman's bathroom then you should go to that room number and add your secrets.
(P.S. when i saw that they had a post secret wall i wanted to know if they had one in the men's restroom, too. They don't, f.y.i, my sister and i checked to make sure.......Ya! I'm weird like that ... I'm not scared to go to the men's room)
